A mid-year reflection for entrepreneurs using the 4 elements for encouragement, and recognizing how far you’ve already come this year.

Our brains naturally focus on what's missing. Your job this week is to add everything you've already accomplished back into the equation. I think you'll like the result.

Read time: 90 seconds and worth every one of them

You are reading In Your Element, my weekly-ish dose of money, systems, and self. Blending strategy, soulful guidance and astrology to help women entrepreneurs move from chaos to more peace.

In case no one has told you lately, you’re doing great!

We are halfway through the year and reflecting on the first half, yes, there is stuff I hoped to have done by now... and I could be dwelling on that.

But then I remind myself of all the stuff I have done!

Our brains tend to focus on the negative, and our job is to vigorously add all the positive, and all that we've accomplished, to the equation.

Now, sometimes we can't see it ourselves, the positive. That's when we need a friend or a coach to point it out for us.

That's what I did last week for one of my clients, I caught her saying something about "going backwards" and I jumped right in to give her a different perspective. I added all the positive to her equation. She left the call feeling lighter and more positive.

In case you don’t have that friend, or coach, allow me to be her for you. Depending on what your dominant element is I would say to you:

  • Fire types: Pause for a moment before chasing the next goal. Look back and celebrate how far you've already come.
  • Earth types: You don't have to do everything perfectly to be making real progress. Done beats perfect everytime.
  • Air types: Sometimes the biggest insight comes from looking back, not rushing ahead to the next idea.
  • Water types: Be as kind to yourself as you so naturally are to everyone else. You've come further than you think.

Running your own business and taking care of your biz finances can feel like a monster. You have come so far. You’re doing a great job, wherever you’re at, just keep it up.

PS: Yep, occasionally I just post some encouragement and leave the business and finance stuff for another time.
