Last week, we explored the fire element and intuition type with the Dragon Ally. In today’s episode, we’re digging into the earth element, the sensation type, and how the Tortoise Animal Ally can help you clear the clutter and get organized.

A Quick Recap

of the concept I covered in Your Natural Blueprint (episode 235)

There are 4 elements, based on astrology and ancient traditions, and they align with archetypes found in renown Carl Jung’s psychology work.

  1. Fire element, fire types are the go-getters full of passion, energy and drive. They are what Carl Jung called the Intuition Type and I assigned them the Animal Ally Dragon. I jumped into the Fire types in episode 236.
  2. Earth element and types are steady and dependable, Carl Jung called them Sensation Type and I assigned them with the Animal Ally Tortoise. We will dig deeper on the element earth in this episode in a minute...but first the third type is the
  3. Air element are the dreamers and thinkers, the Thinking Type according to Carl Jung and I assigned the Hummingbird as their Animal Ally. I'll talk about air types coming up in episode 238
  4. and lastly Water types or Feeling Types according to Jung, they are intuitive and empathetic, and I assigned the Dolphin as their Animal Ally. We dive into that energy in episode 239

Most of us are a mix of all four elements, while one is often dominant. Understanding your dominant element can help us embrace our natural strengths and tendencies without feeling like we need ‘fixing ourselves’ or that we are put in a box. We're already free and whole, we just need to learn to work with our natural strengths and stop fighting against ourselves and our innate nature.

If you’re wondering now what your dominant element could, I’ve created a fun quiz that helps you find out. I’ll share how to access it at the end. Ok, now

Let’s dig into the Earth Element, the Sensation Type, and its Tortoise Ally

If Earth is your dominant element, you likely dig into projects methodically, and without a solid plan they don't really start anything. Does that sound familiar?

Earth types are steady, dependable, and thrive on structure and routine. While they’re great at following through, they often resist change or struggle with flexibility.

Let's dig deeper

The Strengths of Earth Types

Earth types are methodical and patient. When this energy is healthy and balanced, they’re structured, patient, and help drive progress in any project with their reliability and organized and methodical approach.

They are the backbone of every project, keeping everyone on track with their steadiness and organized approach. Their reliability and methodical nature bring a sense of structure and consistency to the team, which ensures solid and steady progress

  • they approach everything with patience and perseverance.
  • they prefer a systematic and thourough approach to everything
  • they are very practical and their efforts very consistent
  • they stay consistent and dependable in challenging situations.

With that in mind, I’ve chosen the Tortoise as the Animal Ally for the Earth element. Tortoises symbolize patience, resilience, and a grounded approach to life.

The Challenges of Earth Types

However, just as earth Just as Earth is stable, it can also be stubborn and resist change.

  • Earth types may overthink things and therefore stay stuck in the planning phase, aiming for perfection before ever taking action.
  • They often resist new habits, routines and doing things differently, solidifying the pattern of not starting projects or tasks at all or stalling the progress of projects.
  • They can be overly critical of themselves and others when things don’t go as planned.

Their key challenge is learning to strive for progress over perfectionism and comparison, avoid being overly critical of themselves and others when things don' t go as planned and focus on their steady pace

3 Tips for Earth Types to Get and Stay Organized

Earth types thrive on methodical plans and steady actions, they need milestones and consistent progress so  here are three tips for harnessing that energy

  1. Challenge yourself to set Ambitious but Achievable Goals and to start projects, even if you’d only rate them a B+ instead of a perfect A.
  2. Take Action Make sure your plans include easy steps that encourage steady progress. This builds confidence and aligns with your need for structure.
  3. Keep a ‘Praise’ List Earth types are often over critical of themselves and what they have accomplish and they forget all the positive feedback they've already received when things get hard or don't go as planned. Therefore keep a list of positive feedback to a) celebrate small victories and more importantly b) building your confidence and motivation.

Remember, the Elemental Quiz is your starting point to uncover your dominant energy type. It's a fun and eye-opening way to gain more insights on how you operate best. And when you take the quiz, you’ll get a detailed report with even more tips and strategies to help you harness your Fire Element.”

3 Mini-Tasks to Jumpstart Organization Projects

To get you started, here are a few mini-tasks tailored to Earth types:

  • Limit yourself to one day a week to deep clean or to re-structure and re-organize your priorities and tasks and focus on imperfect actions the rest of the week
  • Experiment with different approaches and organizational systems to avoid getting stuck in old outdated methods that don't serve you or the project
  • Use a gratitude journal to focus on all the positive and to help you stay motivated

This leads to my

Bonus Tip: the importance of self-care!

Earth types push themselves steadily, but they need time to refuel. Unlike fire types, who recharge through moving their body, Earth types find renewal in grounding activities

  • Spend time in nature—go for a walk or hike to connect and recharge.
  • When you feel that critical voice creeping in, name it and apply your natural analytical skills by asking, “What am I truly missing or needing?” This way, you use your strengths to understand, rather than feed, your inner critic.
  • Cook or bake something delicious and share it with others and enjoy a sense of belonging

Introspection and Reflection

After grounding yourself you can reflect on these questions:

  • how is the element earth and its energy showing up in your life and business for better or worse?
  • How do you already use your natural strengths of steadiness and dependability, and how can you intentionally use them even more?
  • Where are the Earth element’s challenges of rigidity and resistance to change holding you back?

So this was digging a bit deeper into the element Earth, did you recognize yourself? Are you ready to dig even deeper?
