What if I told you there’s a natural blueprint inside of you that can help and guide you to find the best approach for everything—from decluttering your space to setting goals and creating habits? It’s about getting to know yourself better and understanding how YOU naturally operate, and the key to this lies in your dominant element.

What element am I talking about?

The elements I talk about come from Astrology and ancient traditions and they are Fire, Earth, Air, and Water—these are archetypes.

The elements, or archetypes, represent different strengths, tendencies, and even challenges in how we approach everything—from organizing our space to reaching our business goals. And while we are a mix of the four elements, each of us has a dominant element, or a dominant archetype, that profoundly shapes how we function in our everyday lives, The crux is, we’re often not aware of it.

When you start understanding your dominant energy, your archetype, you can use it to your advantage. You stop fighting against yourself, against what feels unnatural, and start working with your dominant element.

So let me introduce you to these elements:

  • Fire types are the go-getters—full of passion, energy, and drive. If you're a Fire type, you probably take action quickly and trust your gut. But sometimes, you might burn out or feel frustrated when things don’t move as fast as you'd like.
  • Earth types are steady and dependable. If this is you, you like structure and routine, and you’re great at sticking with things until they’re done. But, you may find change uncomfortable or resist flexibility.
  • Air types are the dreamers and thinkers. You thrive on ideas and creativity, and you adapt quickly to new situations. However, you might struggle with staying grounded or following through on your ideas.
  • Water types are intuitive and empathetic. You’re deeply connected to your emotions and relationships, which makes you great at understanding others. On the flip side, you might find it hard to stay motivated or deal with procrastination when things feel overwhelming.

Renown psychologist Carl Jung recognized these four archetypes

Now, here’s where it gets even more interesting: this isn’t just a concept rooted in astrology or ancient traditions. It’s actually something the renowned psychologist Carl Jung also studied in his work.

Jung recognized these four archetypes and connected them to the way people perceive and interact with the world. While he had different names for them, they align closely with what we’re discussing today:

  • Fire aligns with Jung’s Intuition Type—you thrive on gut instincts, driven by a sense of possibility and vision.
  • Earth corresponds to Jung’s Sensation Type—who rely on their senses and practical reality, loving routine and stability.
  • Air connects with Jung’s Thinking Type—the big-picture thinker, coming up with creative ideas and strategies.
  • Water matches Jung’s Feeling Type—intuitive and emotionally driven, deeply connected to people and their inner world.

So, as you can see, not only are these elements a powerful spiritual tool, but they’re also grounded in psychological theory. Jung used these archetypes to help people understand themselves and the world around them, and we’re using them here to help you understand your innate strengths, tendencies and challenges.

Now, back to how this can help you...

The more you understand how your dominant element influences you, the more you can create strategies that help you stay organized, reduce stress, and reach your goals.

Now, let’s take one quick example to illustrate this

let's pretend you wanted to get organized in your office:

If you are a Fire types you would approach it with excitement and energy, often diving right into the process without much forethought. You're likely to tackle a messy space head-on, using your passion to fuel your efforts. You love making quick decisions and therefore might impulsively discard items that no longer serve you. However, your enthusiasm usually wanes quickly, which leads you to abandon the project the minute it feels tedious or when you hit a roadblock.

If your dominant element is Earth you will approach getting organized with a methodical and structured plan. You'll likely create a detailed checklist or schedule, you thrive on having a clear plan and system in place. However, you easily fall into the trap of perfectionism, you might spend too much time planning without actually starting. You also might hesitate to make decisions until everything feels “just right,” which again can lead to stagnation.

If Air is your dominant Element: getting organized can be an opportunity for creativity and brainstorming. You might start by brainstorming 100reds of ideas on how to rearrange your space or research and generate several frameworks on how to develop a new organizational system. Sounds great but what you often struggle with is follow-through, you become easily distracted by even more new ideas or concepts. You might need to set specific time limits to keep yourself focused and to ensure your turning your innovative thoughts into actions.

Lastly, if Water is your dominant Element: you approach organizing with a focus on emotional resonance and intuition. You might start by evaluating how your current environment makes you feel, and while you have a natural ability to create calming and nurturing spaces, you most likley struggle with letting go of items that hold emotional significance. Your organizing process involves taking time to reflect on your feelings which slows down your progress considerably or brings it to a stand still.

I’ll dive deeper into each one of the four elements in future blog posts, so stay tuned for that. But for now, this example gives you a taste of how an element’s high road (healthy expression) and low road (unhealthy tendencies) can impact how you approach your organizing project.

It's not about putting you in a box

I want to make something very clear: understanding your element is not about putting you in a box or about fixing you, you don't belong in a box and you’re not broken!

Instead, we'll just investiage if you have been operating in the unhealthy spectrum of your element or maybe were socialized in a way that doesn’t align with your true nature.

The goal here is to help you become more aware of your natural tendencies, embrace them, and make small shifts that lead to big changes.

By understanding your dominant element, you’ll gain insight into your strengths and challenges. Instead of forcing yourself to follow rigid systems that don’t fit, you can organize in a way that aligns with your natural energy.

For example, if you're a Fire type you need quick wins and immediate action steps to stay motivated, while if you're an Earth type you thrive with long-term plans and routines. As an Air type you benefit from systems that encourage focus and reduce distractions, and as a Water type you might need to focus on creating environments that feel emotionally supportive and calming.

As you can see, there’s no “one size fits all.” and it's also not just 4 sizes fit everyone. So often, we’re told that what works for one person should work for everyone. But the truth is, it doesn’t. There’s no system that fits all and that’s okay.

By understanding yourself better, you’ll be able to recognize where you’re showing up in the unhealthy side of your element and start shifting toward healthier expressions. It’s all about making small adjustments that feel right for YOU.
