Journaling is a powerful tool for personal growth, it helps you to unlock your mind and embrace life so that you can take couragous steps.
Feeling stuck and overwhelmed? In this episode I’m joined by Carla Reeves, creator of The Differently Coaching Experience and host of the Differently with Carla Reeves podcast.
Together we dive deep into how to declutter your mind, why journaling is a powerful tool for personal growth, and how small, courageous steps—what Carla calls "Everyday Skydiving"—can help you make lasting change.
We also discuss the power of intentional thinking, breaking free from limiting beliefs, and even quitting social media to create more peace and focus in your life.
Here are my 5 Key take-aways:
- Managing our minds is a gift we need to give ourselves daily. Just like we take out the trash at home, we can clear out our mental clutter—what Carla calls 'brain trash.' Journaling is a powerful way to do this, and I agree with her. In fact, you will hear in the conversation how I’ve been journaling long before anyone was talking about it as a way to organize my mind.
- We are not our thoughts, I remember when I heard this the first time and couldn't really grasp it, it really had to sink in first and it might be the same for you. Changing our environment alone doesn’t work if we don’t examine our thoughts. When we challenge those thoughts and become intentional with them, everything around us changes without us having to physically go anywhere.
- I love how Carla encourages us to step out of our comfort zone through small, everyday actions she calls "Everyday Skydiving." These tiny steps bring us closer to our dreams and hearts. It's the same when I say "a few minutes a day keep the chaos away" - babysteps!
- We can borrow courage from one area of life where we’ve been brave and apply it to areas where we’re struggling. It’s about collecting evidence that we can do it, even when our scared mind is telling us otherwise. (The same works btw for getting organized).
- Carla quit social media because she didn’t want to add more noise to others or herself. Her decision made me question why I’m still on it. I’ve always struggled to stay consistent, often going long periods without posting. It’s definitely something I’ll be reflecting on.
I hope you enjoy this very episode and if you find value in what Carla and I are talking about please share it with your friends and business connections, because if you find value in it, they will too. Sharing is Caring.
